About The Department

Electronics and Communication Engineering has emerged as the major driving force in the present day Information Technology revolution by acting as a bridge between different disciplines of engineering and technology. It has significantly contributed to the development of sectors such as health care, instrumentation, agriculture, automation, signal processing, remote sensing etc. The recent developments in the Department, including IoT, Artificial Intelligence and the mercurial progress in the field of communication.

The course has been the most popular choice in Imayam COllege of Engineering with scientific rigour and development. Our syllabus focuses on developing skills and knowledge that an evolving engineer needs to possess. The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering has outlined the following objectives:

  • Electronics Lab

    To provide exposure to the students with hands-on experience on various basic engineering practices in Electronics components and devices. All basic Electronic devices and their characteristics, applications can be studied. Using these devices the small electronic circuits can be constructed and can be checked using software.

  • Digital Electronics Lab

    All digital I.C related experiments can be carried out using trainer kits as well as software like VHDL. The testers for IC are available.

  • Microprocessor Lab

    This lab has various types of microprocessor, microcontroller trainer kits along with interfacing modules to demonstrate the detailed applications of microprocessors.

  • DSP & VLSI Lab

    The detailed study of the digital electronics & signal processing concept based experiments can be performed. This lab has more than 30 numbers of Pentium IV 512 MB personnel computer along with required soft wares like MATLAB 7.1 version.

  • Communication, Microwave and Optical Lab

    To Design Entry and simulation of combinational logic circuits,sequential circuits etc. Test bench creation, functional verification, and concepts of concurrent and sequential execution is highlighted. The concepts of all types of modulation & demodulation can be studied. The recent communication techniques like fiber optic techniques can be demonstrated with available equipment. This lab has highly advanced digital storage oscilloscopes.

    In this microwave lab characteristics of klystron power supplies, Gunn power supplies and microwave waveguides like directional couplers etc. can be studied.

    Fiber Link - E fiber optic trainer kit based on laser diode & glass fiber, Fiber Link - E fiber optic trainer kit (4 Nos.), Fiber Optic Kit, 2 channel Digital Real Time Storage Oscilloscope 60MHZ, CRO, Function generator, D.C Power supply,pulse generator

Imayam Group Of Institutions is situated in Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu state of India. Established in 2004, and it is affiliated to Bharathidasan University. Imayam Group Of Institutions, Tiruchirappalli offers 21 courses across 6 streams namely Engineering, Arts, Commerce and Banking, Management, IT, Science and across 8 degrees like B.Tech, BSc, B.Com, BA, BCA.Hostel facility is not available for its students.
