About The Department

Established in 2011, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of ICE indulges the faculty and students to closely associate in an open, collegial atmosphere. The department deals with the study of designing, developing, testing as well as supervising the production of electronic equipment. By encouraging an inclusive, productive atmosphere, the students learn in detail about -

  • Broadcast communications
  • Electrical motors
  • Controls of machinery
  • Vehicles
  • Power generation systems
  • Control and transmission devices, etc.

We strive to impart outcomes that are expected from Engineering programs, including

  • an ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics
  • an ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors
  • an ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts
  • an ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives
  • an ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions
  • an ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.


We believe that it is pertinent for students to have the opportunity to bring innovative ideas to the table, experiment, and test the feasibility of their projects. In order to facilitate the same, the Department of EEE holds a wide range of industry-best resources and equipment to leverage and produce quality engineers.

We hold the following laboratories dedicated to undergraduate education

  • Research Lab

    We drive the students and faculty to conduct quality research and serve them with the resources required to seamlessly conduct the same. We constantly upgrade and conduct vigilant maintenance over the equipment on the campus.

  • Control & Instrumentation Lab

    Equipped with Basic gates, wiring components, Megger with Power measuring technique, Energy measuring instrument, Waveform measuring instruments, PCB Design, and Soldering Methodology.

  • Civil Engineering Computer Laboratory

    Provides the students with knowledge on handling advanced industry equipment, Control Engineering, and Instrumentation of different quantities.

  • Electronics Laboratory

    Issues practical exposure in digital and analog electronics, laying out the real-time applications of the domain - from basic to advance level of electronics.

  • AC Machine Laboratory

    Imparts knowledge in working principles and applications of AC machines and equipment.

  • DC Machine Laboratory

    Provides comprehensive understanding of DC Machines and Equipment, so the students are familiar with the working of AC and DC Mechanics.

  • Software & Hardware Applications

    It is essential for students to be proficient in EEE-based computer software like MATLAB, PSCAD, Magnet software, MULTI SIM, DIgSILENT Powerfactory, PSIM, Power World Simulator, Mi-Power, Harmonic analyzer, dSPACE hardware, LabView simulation software, System Generator, Harmonic analyzer, Hardware in the Loop Simulator and MicroGird integration


Along with the carefully laid state-of-the-art curriculum, the faculty aims at developing the inherent skills of the students and transforming them into an intellectual prodigy. The result-driven teachers hold deep expertise and knowledge in the field of EEE and are active contributors to the field by creating quality Engineers, publishing national and international level research papers and thesis.


A degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering will lead to potential career opportunities in Quality assurance and Testing, Programming, Installation and Commissioning, Control and Maintenance, Process Engineering, and Manufacturing. The students will work with novelty technologies like Automation, Solar Arrays, Electrical Cars, and Communication Technologies.

Imayam Group Of Institutions is situated in Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu state of India. Established in 2004, and it is affiliated to Bharathidasan University. Imayam Group Of Institutions, Tiruchirappalli offers 21 courses across 6 streams namely Engineering, Arts, Commerce and Banking, Management, IT, Science and across 8 degrees like B.Tech, BSc, B.Com, BA, BCA.Hostel facility is not available for its students.
